We believe that we offer a unique service, due in part to our fully flexible packaging solutions and flat fee structure, but mostly because of our hands on approach to facilitating this service into your organization, and service to your employees.


A little about us..


Salary Options is a joint venture between the Victorian Hospitals’ Industrial Association and Stewarts Accountants. This service was built around the requirements of the Health Sector, which were identified on a Salary Packaging survey conducted by VHIA.


As this service has been built around the reported requirements, we feel confident that we can offer the best service available.


Why is it important to promote Salary Packaging?

It is important to ensure that you provide your employees with adequate education/information regarding their entitlements as your employee.

Incorporating salary packaging into your recruitment process increases your potential to attract and employ staff.

Ensuring that existing employees have access to their maximum financial benefit is a proactive approach by management, appreciated by staff therefore an aids to retention.

Investing into the Health Sector

As a non profit association, all funds received by VHIA are used to source, establish and develop further services for the Health Sector. Two of our latest highly successful ventures are:

· Health Legal

The establishment of this specialist legal firm which provides the full range of legal services required within the Health sector, available at discounted rates for VHIA members.

· Accelerated Advanced Diploma of Management & Diploma of Business   (Frontline Management)

A joint venture between VHIA and the Gordon Institute, we offer these nationally recognized diploma courses both on your premises (if sufficient numbers) or at the premises of VHIA (St Kilda Road Melbourne). The Advanced Diploma bridges directly to the Masters of Business Administration (MBA) which we will also be offering.


The Service we provide.

Although our service includes all of the usual payment options such as mortgage and loan repayments, we take a proactive approach in educating staff and show them how they can access their packaged amounts as CASH reimbursements, helping them to feel more confident about packaging.

In addition, we offer a Salary Packaging Card (VISA/Debit card) ensuring that all eligible employees have access to salary packaging.

Salary packaging benefits can be increased further by taking advantage of exempt items such as the purchase of Laptops and other exempt items such as Meals Entertainment. Meals Entertainment can be offered via two methods, receipt reimbursement and the Meals Entertainment Card (VISA/Debit Card).

We also offer clear concise reporting to both you and your employees, including a GST report that employers can use to claim GST credits.

Another special feature of our service is that we only process the funds that are received by you, therefore eliminating the possibility of overpayment when employee circumstances change, or upon termination of employment.

Further, we take steps to ensure that your employees are protected from any future FBT liability by ensuring that the evidence that they provide to us is compliant to ATO requirements.


How do we differ from our competitors?

  • Comprehensive information sessions for employees which simplify the packaging process, including effects on HECS, Family payments, Child Support etc.

  • Fully flexible packaging options including a combination of services.

  • Ability for your organisation to access expert FBT advice free of charge.

  • Free Salary Packaging advice from a qualified Financial Advisor for those employees who have more complex circumstances.

  • Facilitation in the form of a "Moving to Salary Options Kit" to assist in the implementation of our service. This includes a guide which assists from the first notification to staff to the final phase of the changeover.

  • We will remain on site for up to 5 consecutive days (depending on staff numbers) to ensure that your employees have access to further information and assistance with forms.

  • We only pay out what you pay to us - eliminating overpayments.

  • We reduce risk to employees by ensuring that evidence is ATO compliant.

  • One flat fortnightly fee for all services. No annual, setup, exit or change fees. No limits on changes. No additional fees associated with the Salary Packaging Card or the Meals Entertainment Card.

  • Funds to VHIA go back into the Health Sector.


And the fees?

We offer two fee systems:

1. Fee per fortnight per employee. This rate includes a 10% rebate to the employer on a bi-annual basis.

2. Flat fee per fortnight per employee flat fee*.

*We will try to match your existing fees where possible.
