    Who can join: Typically, Payroll/ Finance Employees nominated by the health service.

    What is the reference Group (RG)?

    VHIA utilise the RG during the 4 stages of bargaining (Implementation, Review, Planning and Bargaining) which is scheduled at periodic intervals throughout the year. The RG is an opportunity for Member to:

    • General – be kept informed of any disputes or implementation issues within the agreement and have the opportunity to ask VHIA and other members about any issues health services may be having;
    • Implementation – gain additional support form VHIA and suggest any implementation material that would be helpful
    • Review – Provide VHIA with feedback on the agreement and suggestions of review items and changes for the next agreement
    • Planning – Develop on the review items and development of the Employer Log of Claims before bargaining for an Agreement commences;
    • During bargaining – have the opportunity to attend bargaining meetings, be a sounding board for the review of Union claims, be involved in the approval of the drafting process for the new Agreement and be kept up to date on all matters related to bargaining.
