"The Nurses (Victorian Public Sector) Multiple Employer Agreement 2004-2007 - varied and extended"

We are displaying the varied and extended the 2004 – 2007 Agreement now that it has incorporated the terms that were agreed in the settlement with the ANF and HSUA in late 2007 and also incorporated the Nurses (Victorian Health Services) Award 2000. It is important to note that the Award has been fully incorporated into the Agreement. The Agreement will now provide a single, comprehensive document on all the terms and conditions for the employment of general nurses at a health service.

All Victorian public sector general nurses will shortly receive a postal ballot from the Australian Electoral Commission and be be asked whether they approve the extended and varied Agreement.

For any more information about this matter please email Peter Clarke pclarke@vhia.com.au or telephone: 03 9861 4000.

VHIA partners manual - Family and Work Life Balance.

VHIA has played a partnership role with the Australian Services Union recently in developing a practical guide to help implement family friendly work practices. Minister for Industrial Relations Rob Hulls launched the manual on 17 August 2006. The manual's development was financially supported by Industrial Relations Victoria. We think it will be a valuable resource for employers both in the social and community services sector and further afield to assist in providing family friendly working practice.

Please see a full electronic version of the manual attached. We encourage you to download/print off the manual and make full use of its content and references. It contains explanations, a glossary of terms, model provisions, a questionnaire tool and links.
